Draperies Etc., Inc.
located on Marshall St in Milford, was founded over 40 years ago by Mr. John P. Lonergan. Originally Mr. Lonergan was plant manager for a drapery business established in New York. When they decided to open a branch in Milford, he came to the area to oversee the operation. It was ultimately decided to use the Milford site as the sole manufacturing plant and Mr. Lonergan moved his family to Delaware.
After twenty-four years in the drapery business, the dream of owning his own business became a reality in 1970. It was chiefly a family operation to begin with and only manufactured draperies. As more and more requests for residential decorating were received, a decorator and a showroom were added. The “etc.” in the name started to be needed as carpeting, wallcoverings, shades and vertical blinds were added to the products made available to the customer to complement the custom draperies that were already fabricated. | More >>>
